Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX, 1282-1328. Hyperpyron (Electrum, 25 mm, 3.22 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis. Bust of Virgin Mary, orans, flanked by two stars, all within city walls furnished with four groups of towers. Rev. Christ blessing Andronicus II and Michael IX, kneeling to left and right, respectively; in fields, IC - XC; to right, blundered legend. SB 2396. Clipped and struck from worn dies, otherwise, very fine.
